I designed this for Burning Man this year, and I thought it worked out beautifully. It’s made of eight heavy-duty 12′ x 12′ tarps tied together and tensioned over top of one 10′ PVC pipe and four 8′ 2×3 posts. 16 pieces of re-bar hold it down. There were moments of high wind where it moved around a lot, and in some places I had to reinforce the grommets, but it held up all week and created a comfortable common space for a camp of about 20 people. The first three photos were taken during a practice build in Vancouver, the last one was taken at the festival (Black Rock Desert, NV).
