Ferndale Street, near Templeton. It’s like mini-golf in their front yard!

If you’re trying to get anywhere in this neighbourhood by car, you need to know that the streets comprise a labyrinth that turns you in the opposite direction to the one you’re trying to go in. Drive away from the thing you’re trying to find, and you might get there.

It’s better to roam the neighbourhood by foot, especially in late summer and early fall. All the Italian families have enormous gardens in their backyards, and while I’m not suggesting that you steal anything… ok maybe I am. There’s usually something hanging over the fence and there’s such an abundance that really what’s the harm? Tomatoes, figs, plums, grapes, raspberries… beautiful!!!
