The auction is over

Hello all,

The auction has now closed. My heartfelt thanks to all of you who made bids or even just dropped in to take a look at what was going on. In the end you raised $1495! That money gets me on the road and will keep me going for quite a while, and at the same time each item sold loosens the ties that hold me in place, thereby bringing me closer to liftoff. So thank you.

I’ll be updating each item with the results of the auction for those that are curious. Most sold, some that didn’t sell I’ve decided to keep, and some that didn’t sell are still available. There are some new categories at the right to help you sort through them. If you’re interested in any of the available stuff get in touch with me quickly, as I’ll be finding ways to get rid of it soon.

 

AUCTION!

The time has come to start finding new homes for my belongings. I’d like to get good value for them and that of course will fund my project, so I’m having a lo-fi virtual auction. That means you can get some great stuff and support my project too! Here’s how it’ll work. NOTE, there have been some changes, which are in bold:

• Each item has its own post here, except for items that seem to make sense to group together. To see all the items for sale, click on the “Auction items” category at the right (note that there are more items than fit on one page, so when you get to the bottom click ‘next’). To get back to this post, click on the “auction instructions” category. To *not* see auction items, click on the “vandwelling” category.
• Each item is marked with letters and a price. LVB means Lowest Visible Bid. You are welcome to make bids that are lower than the LVB, I just won’t post them visibly.
• CB stands for Current Bid. When bids go above the LVB I will change the letters to CB and post the amount of the latest bid.
• If someone outbids you I will let you know directly, until bids go above the LVB, at which point you can keep track on your own.
• If all offers for an item are below the LVB then I will sell to the highest of those offers, as long as it’s reasonable. I reserve the right to decide what’s unreasonable.
• To make an offer, simply write a comment on the same posting that the item is in: bids won’t be published directly, only I will see them. Comments that aren’t actual bids but are flirty or supportive or suggest new ideas will be published as usual.
• When bidding, please use increments of at least $5, because I wouldn’t be able to keep up with smaller ones.
• All items can be viewed in person on Friday and Saturday November 13 and 14, from 12pm-2pm and from 6pm to 8pm. Write a comment to let me know which date and time you’d like to come see it and I will send you the address. I may also be able to arrange an alternate time if necessary. I may be able to help with delivery within Vancouver if necessary, but I’m not prepared to ship items, so local sales only.
• Bidding closes at midnight on Friday November 20.
• Any items that haven’t been paid for and collected by Sunday November 22 will then go to the next highest offer… But please only make offers if you’re serious about following through.
